Any tips for removing dash scratches?

The wood parts of my dash were refinished sometime ago in a highly polished burr walnut finish, unfortunately one of the panels has been scratched (just the varnish finish, not the wood). I've tried polishing out the scratch with Brasso which has made no difference. Can anyone recommend a way of covering the scratch (I'm thinking maybe of applying a small bit of clear nail varnish)?

Thanks in anticipation of a great response!

I had something similar on a TR6 dash and used a fine brush with exterior clear varnish, several fine coats to build up the layers until flush. Worked a treat and was hardly noticeable.

Havant seen any dates for next years New Forest run yet, although ISTR it's usually around mid April.

They haven't yet got the 2014 statistics on their website so we can't check whether Stag was supreme or not (as it has in every year I've entered )

I hope to do next year's if possible and may see you there again Glyn ?

              Cheers

              Julian

Sorry for the slow replies - I was too busy working on the Stag at the weekend to log onto the Forum. My car's almost finished and I hope to meet up with fellow Stag owners in the area come the Spring, so watch this space.

                  Witwot,
Re the question about the burr walnut dash - it was done by a previous owner who had the car customised to look like his Rolls Royce, so it has the dash as mentioned, plus metallic Rolls Blue paint and parchment coloured Connolly leather interior. I have the receipts for the dash so if you want me to pass the details of who did it, then let me know.
