Has anyone experience of dismantling a speedometer wihout damaging the chrome bezel. I need to fix the zero trip mechanism which has failed.I have a spare speedo for parts. Has anyone else had this non zeroing problem?
Just tweak the tags up on the rear face of the bezel to slacken them a bit, then grabbing the bezel in one hand and the case in the other twist the bezel round until the tags line up with the slots - the speedo seal will have stuck the bezel a bit after 30+ years so you'll have to give it some wellie, but eventually it will move.... the rest is easy
