To be honest, in my opinion the SOC Forum seems to have lost it's former sparkle and has become too staid and humourless.
The good natured "banter" that used to be a regular feature of the Forum seems to have all but disappeared.
Or am I reading you wrong Bruce - do you simply mean that there are not many people posting at the moment?.

Perhaps we've addressed ALL the Stag's problems... well it's a possibility... and a quick search provides anyone with the answers they need. So without humour or the event co-ordination traffic (not many events around the Hols) then there's nothing left to say.

I'm not sure how many Forumers are active in their local areas?
Down here for the Canterbury (NZ) area here are a few stats for those that way inclined.
13 Events this year if someone attended everyone (Including Taupo) they'd have covered nearly 3800 Km. Much more if you include the mileage to the start points.
In total on the runs we collectively traveled 17600 Km. This doesn't include the mileage to get to the start points so 20,000 Km would be more realistic.
Reliability - well pretty darned good other than one breakdown that we won't talk about 100%.

I think it's normal on classic car forums as most of the cars are tucked away for the winter, therefore less happening to them for which the owners need advice.

It'll pick up again in a couple of months.

If you want a totally humourless Stag forum, try triumphstag.net. Excellent for technical stuff, but that is all. Big problem with that one is that it is both Internet and mobile phone based, so threads become disjointed and difficult to follow, unlike this one.

The reason this one has lost its sparkle, IMHO, is because some members tried to inject humour which quickly degenerated into content which some found disgusting, racist, or otherwise unacceptable. When this was 'moderated' they took offence at apparent censorship. Now everyone is reluctant to post 'funnies' for fear of the same happening again. Ergo we have a technical help forum on which many of the issues are repeated on a regular basis. A simpler, more efficient, search facility would eliminate many of the repeat queries, but then we would have even less forum traffic.....
