    Saturday blast

Took Stagatha out for a blast this afternoon, first time in about 10 weeks, and the last time I ran her in the garage, she was misfiring and needed a good run.

Ran down the A449 to the motorway, gave her a blast down the link road (70 max of course officer), and did about 30 miles before topping her up with some super unleaded whilst it's a little cheaper.

Whats the odds, but saw a red Stag coming the other way, think it was Jane our old (past) coordinator!

Anyway, beats reading the depressing forum, no jokes, no banter and all the "experts" leaving. Something needs to be done, but roll on Summer.....

Well done Ian. I have been out in mine today running like a dream. Just got home and changed the oil ready for the spring. Robbo.

Roll on summer, but from tomorrow the days will be getting longer.

My Sunbeam has been off the road for months now, partly due to the stag stilll being a relative novelty, and also having a door repaired. But today I got the refurbed door refitted, and in preparation for giving it some a well overdue runout, I started it up. Was surprised that the, now old petrol was still useable. Perhaps its not as voltatile as some make out.

I recently changed the Dizzy cap on my Stag for a black one rather than blue. Every time I use it after a couple of weeks of rest it develops an enormous condensation related misfire as the engine warms up. Embarrassed me outside B&Q a couple of weeks ago, wouldn't restart until the internally soaking cap was dried out.

Neither of my other cars with black caps suffer this problem, so I am hoping this is a simple fix!

well jealous! as from 31st of this month my Stag is sorned it's a bit pointless taxing it when the engine is in bits and gearbox out.. at least I have a few months before spring to get it up to scratch

Didn't go out in Stag today but went to local town and back in modern Jag today (Approx 6 miles) In that time I saw 3 TR's (2x6, 1x5) and a AH 100/6! Not aware of any classic car event hereabouts. Is it get it out and try it ready for Christmas day? Must confess I had thought of doing same with Stag but need an hour or so to finish off a couple of minor jobs - perhaps Monday:

Using mine regularly. Over 600 miles since changing the head gaskets and over 3000 miles since the MOT last March. Good job I've got unlimited mileage insurance now.....

I clock up around 3000 miles a year as well. The car is defiantly better for it. Before I got mine the previous owners were doing around 200 miles a year the more I use the car the better it gets. I might try a trip to Ireland next year.

Glad it's going well since you had the heads off Dave

And yes, like you, I'm a big fan of using it regularly - will be going out this morning in the old girl and should do a similar mileage to you before next MOT ( however that reminds me of the jobs that I know I will need to do before then )

I've got the hardtop on for winter now, but easy to pull off if wanted thanks to my new electric hardtop hoist

                      Cheers

Mine got a good run Saturday, first for a few weeks as we have had lots of muck and salt on the roads.

It was actually the frst time I have really gone out with the hardtop in place. I previously removed it once I bought the car but I decided to have it on this winter. What a nice difference it makes-although I miss the exhaust noise a bit.
