Arggggggg Stag in a poke !!!!!!

My stag is driving me bonkers this month ,reversing lights stopped working ,fixed,heated rear screen not working ,fixed,cigar lighter burnt out loom fixed,drivers door lock broke fixed,electric windows stopped working fixed,overdrive stopped working fixed,soft top stuck in, still a mess !

now last two days ........choke sticks in,Saturday worked fine then refused to start ,king lead slightly loose? so it starts

,Sunday drove to Leicester ,spent one hour at the car meet ,won't start !!!!!!! fiddled it started ........

today started great drove to Dudley to get all new ignition bits ,won't start and battery sounded rough ,jump stared ok ......drove back to brum great,

had battery and alternator checked ,all's well until I got back in the car ignition light on ,recheck the alternator has intermittent fault !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

can't get one today !

There goes my yule time cruise ,can't even trust it to go and put petrol in ,this along with other work that needs has made me start looking for the fawlty towrs branch

Know how you feel spent £2,500 in the first 2 years, but that's half the fun fixing them, so they tell me

This is how mine was in the early days, one thing after another.

Fixing the root causes one by one has made it a lot better. All it takes is time, patience, and money. The three requisites of classic car ownership.

It's not unusual to have quite a few problems at first but, bit by bit you'll conquer them and then, slowly but surely you'll come to love your car more and more.

Well now I've had a little Christmas drink with my mates ,I'm looking on the bright side of life
I'm going to fit an alarm ,all the new ignition parts ,front wheel bearings ,refit the radio,wire up the heated front seats,rewire the n\s reversing light (loose connection)
and change the oil,and go to the car meets in my modern,as I'm old enough to be classed as a classic

Why not join the Rubce New Years Day run, or just meet up at Big J's pub at lunchtime? The pubs near Telford, so not too far from you?
Several Stags will be there, and one or two Stag owners in their moderns possibly.

Hi Lambrettlad. we paid a high price for our Stag 3 months ago and have had a number of niggles - see my other threads. However it still looks great and moreso goes great.

Wish there was an Xmas day meet at a Pub near us. Forget New Years Day meets as would not dare to drive until at least 2 pm!

Pub is the Red Lion, there is already a menu link on Bruce's (Rubce) post. The true Run starts early New Years Day towards Nantwich/Crewe or Cheshire area usually and ends up at the pub. As I (we??) are too far south, I've not yet done the run, just ended up at the Red Lion for about 12/12:30 and met up with everyone there.

Keep your eyes on Rubce's post and you'll see where the run is starting and when, if you're not too hung over!!

Hope to see you there, but may be worthwhile letting Bruce know that you're coming?

Alternator off the car ,4 and a half hours !!!! can't find my non metric spanners !!!!!! The one which came off was not for a stag (no surprise there then).I've been given ( to try before purchase) a higher rated alternative which is a little fatter I'll see if it fits
