Stag for sale - not really...

    Gentlemen,

I could not resist to posting this photo, which one could find on German Fleebay some time ago. There was a Stag for sale in Northern France, sold by a German car dealer who specializes in classic cars - some in pretty bad shape. Next to that business he and his French wife run something like a "club". So she poses in all of his pictures advertising his cars. Obviously she is in better shape than the Stag. See picture...

By the way: I promise to be a good boyTriumph Stag mit Dame.jpg in 2015.
    Dieter - from Germany.

It still has UK plates. It appears to be PDE 3**M but unfortunately I cannot read the ** even after a bit of photoshop treatment. (It did improve other aspects a bit however!)

Looks like the 3rd one to me (right capacity, colour is a match) ... I did my own image manipulations for fun. The plate is a touch dirty (wow, Sherlock...) ... to be honest, the digit(s) after the 3 could be almost anything.

Moving on ... a little digging brings up these three gems (if I am not mistaken, "PD" suggests Guildford as original registration spot):

                Triumph UNKNOWN
                PDE 35 M - first registered 4/1/1974
                1493cc, RED
                Tax was due 6/4/1987

                Triumph UNKNOWN
                PDE 30 M - first registered 1/1/1974
                1998cc, RED
                Tax was due 1/10/1986

                Triumph UNKNOWN
                PDE 311 M - first registered
                2997cc, WHITE
                Tax was due 1/2/1986

I looked in the range PDE3xM to PDE3xxM, and these were the matches thrown up. Anyone else want to give it a bash?

(The bonnet mascot ... mnehhh ... pass on that!)
