There's a moderate whiff of absurdity re that bid level ... just a teensy whiff, mind you

I know they are hard to find as I've been looking for one for over a year, but this is pushing it!

That would have included me then, until mine fell out and was returned to me in 3 pieces by a neighbour and I had to fit the spare......

When I was a school boy (1975ish) I remember that technology teachers taught us how to make resin. Lot of us made ashtrays (for our parents!) and the then in fashion gearlever knobs with things inside, beetles, butterflies, stones, flags... It's very easy.

In this case it's only a matter of putting a picture of a stag at the bottom, pouring the liquid resin sourced from any drugstore and waiting until dries up. A bit of a file (rasp maybe?) for adjusting and job done. Of course something akin to a mould is necessary, whilst it's easy to make one, or even using the badge holder for that purpose.

For this price it'll be interesting to make some of them regularly!

Mine fell out to last year in the car park at work. Luckily I saw it before driving off.

Just a reminder in case it's anyone on here bidding

SOCTFL has a project in progress to re-establish manufacture of badges using the original tooling - this will include the front grille badge as well rear wing badges for both Mk I (grey) and Mk II (black). The greatest challenge is to find a supplier capable of applying the paint and vacuum metalising to the blanks with sufficient precision to achieve a consistently high quality product. We hope to make the new badges available in 2015.

We have made some progress on the manufacture of the blanks so the project is on track.

                      Cheers

Well I did offer you the one I bought at the show for the £45 I paid but sadly I still have it but sold my other spare on ebay for over £100
As soon as the new badges go on sale it will be funny to see a rush of people selling their badges .

Paul, and others. The blanks for all three badges are being made this week, and finished test samples have been received from the printers. A few adjustments to that process, and they should be available in Mk1 and Mk 2 colours quite soon now.

Thanks for the update, and the work you all do on our behalf. Just a quick question, can we safely assume that the new side badges will fit in the holders now as some of the earlier reproduction one needed reducing in size to fit as they should.

                              Ian.
