Great, thanks, useful.
Let's hope we get similar for Road Tax. When there are several cars around it is going to be difficult to keep track of which are taxed and which are not, now we don't have the disc for easy reference. It's going to be a nightmare for me. It already is!
With transparency of records being applied and all the legal principles already established it shoud be just as easy to check when your road tax expires, relying on the reminder has to many chances for things to go arwy, as I know to my cost. Last year a reminder didn't show up and I got fined for not doing a SORN, which was as much as 6 months tax. I know you can do this using the DVLA site but it is slow, nowhere near as quick as reading a disc on the screen.
I've been thinking of making my own little tax disc for each car, that would get me back to where I was before things changed, no computer required, no waiting for the internet to come back on, just a glance at the screen.
Sometimes, progress is achieved by going backwards.
Regards

Oblivious, I didn't SORN the vehicle (no reminder). Fine was about £80. DVLA say complain to the Post Office, not our problem, we sent it out, pay or else. What I foresee is a repeat of this, and no tax disc to provide a back up warning.TV8, LPG, EEWP, HiD's, ZF 4, 15" Minilites, SS Bumpers & Exhaust, BMW Servo & Master, Rilsan.
