thanks,im going to be taking the engine and box out,so thought i would ask what i needed,can i just leave a plastic bag on the end,or will i end up with oil all over the place
I cant remember off the top of my head weather the 35 has a drain plug in the sump pan anyway if not drain it out of the dipstick tube where it goes into the sump pan.

Dave, if you can find one, the soft plastic caps that are used on the tubes that are used to send things in the post are perfect for this as the correct one (if you can find one) will slide over the spline and seal against the oil seal.

Hi Dave,
Just removed my BW35 for a rebuild, mine did have a drain on sump but would not come out, drained from banjo bolt, but it does not completely drain sump ! When I dropped sump there was still about 2/3 ltrs in sump, after all drained out including sump I think I got out about 8ltrs ish of fluid, not including what was in oil cooler as well. Lots of oil to dispose of, ethically of course, we have a waste oil tank at workshops
