Yep, fitted to ALL Stags but I too find it doesn't make much difference. Turning the knob, especially a tight one (Ooh err !) is more effort than it's worth I reckon.
Talking of things that people may not realise they've got, I think there are still some around who don't realise that the steering wheel adjusts for both reach and rake.
There is a weakness on this mechanisam: the pivots get damp and sieze up; then a rivet holding it together snaps off. This can be repaired by drilling out rivet and bolting up using a nyloc nut to secure it. Once all this is sorted and lubed the winder is much easier to use.
