Yes they were . When used on vans and caught on your lip the resulting infection often lead to Van Aerial disease.

There is just something right turning on the radio and seeing the aerial pop up in the rear view mirror!

I fecking hate electric aerials. They never work for long, stick half way down, get bent by malicious people etc. Despite leaving a hole in the front wing for one by mistake I put a hidden antenna under the dash it just lays alongside the wiper rack. Seems to work fine.

Hi Knockwurst,

Does that aerial work with an FM as well as a DAB, it sound a great solution, my rear mounted aerial got knocked off by a tree while driving down a narrow lane, a Screen mounted one will be much better and a grommet and seal until a repaint seems a good alternative.

John, it only works for DAB, you would still need a conventional aerial for FM.
