Fitting Handbrake Cable / Front grille fixings

    Hi members,

I need your appreciated advice regarding some of my current tasks:
    1. I need to replace the handbrake cable. Is it possible to replace it without dismounting the propshaft or exhaust? On the first look I would say it's not possible, but you may know some tricks.
    2. Today I had to remove the front grille and managed to break off one of the fixing tabs. Tried to solder the tab back on, but wasn't successful. What's the best method to repair? Welding? Any other ideas?

    Regards

    Gerd,
I've fixed the grille brackets with countersunk pop rivets. Readily available on eBay. A smear of filler in the rivet hole and a touch-up with satin black and the repair is invisible.

I used Q bond 2 part adhesive on the grille bracket. easy and worked a treat. About £10.00 off E-bay

hi ,re cable : use tape like gaffer tape to join old and new together end to end and pull through gently ive used this method many times .
re grill : welding is the most robust method and if you were close by id do it for you but as others have stated bonding ,rivets etc your choice .

Hi, I used Tiger Seal on my grill - sticks like s..t to a blanket. Still in place 1 year on.

For the grill cut a piece of hollow tube the correct length then hold in position with black tack while you re fix it.
Use washers and long screw to re fix

That's a good idea, but will this "construction" go through the Y-compensator? Any other dos and don'ts?
