    Stowage cover control lever

    Hi,

    Another question, please.

I have to replace the cables of the tonneau release and stowage cover. It looks like that I have to drill out the pin which fixes the control lever to get the cables of. Is that right? What did you use as a substitute for this pin?

    Hi Gerd.
It's some time since I did this but I'm sure that you don't have to drill it out.
With the cables loose, open the lever fully and the pin should slide out of it's slot sideways.

Yep! Didn't have to drill anything out or replace any pins on mine either.
      The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137

have you ever replace a brake cable on your push bike, you have a nipple that sits in a slot, the tonneau release lever is the same setup

You might have to increase the size of the cable slots as the new cable is thicker than the original one (why ?? ). I also had to shave off some of the metal 'nipple ' depth so that they both would fit in the handle.

the cables you buy from the supliers don't fit,the cables and nipple are to big to fit the leaver, what i did was buy bicycles cables for a tamdem

Got the cables out without drilling But the new cables from the brothers show the problems mentioned above.
