I used Vinylcoat over 20 years ago on my MGB, and they have stood up well.
At work last year they used Vinylcoat, and it worked until people sat on the seats and then it came off! Perhaps they have changed the formulation.
If I was to do it again, I would use the chemicals and technique as in 38Rovers post above,from the Furniture Clinic etc
I've got a hunch that some sun lotions, or something that you put on your skin can sometimes attack the surface layer, as our leather sofas seem to get attacked in summer on skin contact areas, and then the surface sprayed on layer of the leather coating sheds.
