    Prop shaft remove and refit?

    Hi
On a four speed with overdrive ,is it possible to remove and refit the prop shaft without removing the exhaust? Some one suggested it may be .
Left Monday free to change the worn front UJ and the rear one whist it's off, and Tuesday (?)

    Hi Alex

I managed it on my manual one. I used 2 x 1 wood to gently prise the exhaust boxes apart at the rear and slide it out. Its not easy but can be done. Get to the stage when the prop is resting downwards on the boxes and lever the boxes and it should come out but will definitely scratch the paint on the prop.

Its just a little easier Alex if you just drop the rear exhaust hangers - it will definitely come out then but it depends how easy it is to undo your hangers of course....

      Cheers
