Totaly agree perhaps one of the roles of super moderator should be to get us all together enroute, parked together etc for next year

I agree, great day, even if I didn't se the Vulcan. Had a bonus though, followed a group of sports cars in and ended up in the pre-sixty six car park, in a Stag! Not so far for 'er indors' to walk in her heels though.

Lots of helicopters flying in and out.

We had a great time, the 60's saloon car race was absolutely amazing. I don't know what sort of 1296cc was under the bonnets of those A35's, but I want one in my Stag.

            Anyone for a taxi?

And, there was even something for Russ besides the Vulcan (if he still had hair)!

We met up with Graham and Lorraine for a nice cuppa. We have a really gen bloke as supermoderator. I am quite looking forward to getting edited. We must do a group thing next year - perhaps in the style of the 70's ie Loon pants, floral shirts and heels

            Al

ps Sorry I missed you other guys, the racing was really gripping. I hope the Vulcan turns up, otherwise we'll never hear the last of it!

I hear that these can overheat if left to idle for a long period. Perhaps one of Tony Hart's radiators could help?

Great day out, sorry to miss you all but in the wrong place at the wrong time. Phil, that was not me parked at the end of a row in Lavant car park but another French Blue. I was tucked away a few rows forward. Surprised to see that the JCB Ferrari GTO was not painted red, looked more like Java:shock::shock::shock:.

                John.

What the plane or you in that jacket- it was very hot in the sun yesterday to be wearing long sleeves, let alone a flight jacket!!

Went today-Sunday, great day. How come you posted at 5.15pm Russ? didn't you make it?. The Vulcan was cancelled again with Hydraulic probs, but what a fantastic race by the Adrian Newey/Martin Brundle team in an E Type jag. This years races was limited to 50's cars in the St. Mary's Trophy (saloons) so no Minis, Anglias or Lotus Cortinas, next year will be 60's limit so they will be back.

                        Bob,

Yesterday it was a battle Royal between a Jag, two A35's and an Austin Westminster. One A35 got in front at the end, then the other shunted the (3 litre) Westminster into the barrier when it rolled. The Minis, Anglais and Cortinas werent missed at all.

I met some Germans and was chatting to them during this race. The Merc was last! I had a little dig or two on this point. They had flown over from Germany for a day and were absolutely wowed by the whole thing.

Alan, as hoped, I managed to catch a couple of minutes of Tiff Nedell's time at that event on Wednesday. He had to keep out of the pack after a couple of laps as his brakes were cooked.

A bit of a rule conflict though in my opinion - there was a sign about bets being paid out on the car in front at the time the race stopped, but it appears that the official results are based on the last full lap.
