Help! Ordered a Stainless steel sill kit plus the sill finishingstrip kitfrom Paddocks , the sill kit has fitted great but the two sill finishing strips are about 3" shorter than the sill and leave a stupid lookin gap . The strips , I think, are designed to fit in the gap twixt door and S/S sill and are about 1" high with rubber end caps.. Have I got the right kit or am I missing something obvious about fitting them? If they were the right length they would look pretty good as it is they look bloomin odd. Looked on Rimmers web page but the Diag's not very clear. Has anyone else fitted them? cheers David:?

Are we talking Mk1 or Mk2 here?
Later Mk1 and earlier Mk2 models had the chrome sill strip which is shorter than the full sill length - later Mk2 models have the SS sill covers and no strip.....
From your username I'm guessing your car is Mimosa Yellow andis around 1973 or 74 - this would make it from the factory if memory serves correctly with the chrome sill strip, but not the SS covers and black sills/back panel.
So choose your poison, strip or sill cover because it's not practical to have both as you have found out..... it's up to you - the SS covers are easier to wash and protects the sill paint against stone damage, but can and does trap moisture and hide serious rot if you don't pressure wash the muck, bullets and gore out from behind and treat with waxoyl or Dynax on a regular basis...

Hi Russ, thanks for the info. She' a late 77 car so I guess she should have the covers and not the strip. I didn't realise she would have had either one or the other. Bugger a bit more work for the bodyshop in removing the strips! ( She's in Pimento redCasamimosa'sjust a log name) Many thanks David
