    Prop shaft UJ question

Hi we upgraded our auto box a while ago to the Tate & Lewis set up but now need a new UJ the standard Stag ones are to small does any one know which UJs I need Thanks Max

Hi Maxine and welcome to the forum. The T & L conversion uses a standard Stag propshaft to suit the Borg Warner 65 box. I am surprised that u/j sizes changed with different gearboxes, unless an uprated shaft has been fitted. Can only suggest that the joints are taken to good bearing supplier to source equivalents.

hi Maxine and welcome to the forum , as koy said or take the prop shaft to a drive shaft rebuilders they will soon sort that out and recheck your balance while its there.if you don't have one localy there are several that advertise in the known classic mags who can do this by courier.

        Hi Maxine,

As above. Where in Devon are you? I could take a look if you are near Exeter, or you could visit Andy Moss if near Plymouth.

Hi we are in Holsworthy and the car is in the local garage looks as though it will need the prop shaft sending away. Checked the part no. GUJ102 this morning and that is what we have but they are definitely to small

Did the prop come as part of the conversion? They should last years, so may be worth speaking to the supplier. I did my own ZF conversion last year and bought a BW65 prop s/hand. Changed both joints as a matter of course and they were the standard type.

Thanks for the info it looks like they are Landrover UJs but the prop shaft is on its way to drive link in Newcastle for new UJs and a balancing hopefully that will solve our vibration. Maxine

Ok. Let us know how it turns out. Hope to meet up at a local show or drive during the year. Are you planning on going on the Drive it Day run to Haynes?
