Can one of you kind folk with the special needs gearbox (BW35) like mine, measure the ID of the filler / dipstick tube I want to improve on the seal on the dipstick but forgot to measure the tube today when I went to my Garage.

For the benefit of the naive in this area - please explain what the problem is you are trying to solve? I have (I now learn) a Mk1.5 with a BW35. My other classic also has a BW35.

Some BW 35's suffer from incontinence. i.e. the car marks it's territory by dumping ATF out the filler tube when standing for a while. this (intermittent) fault is related to a NRV in the valve block in the gearbox allowing the T/C to drain back. My car has done it about 6 times in five years. I put a drip tray under it when it's standing for any length of time to save the mess. I want to try getting a decent seal on the dipstick when in the tube. If I'm happy with the outcome I will post more details
