o/s/r wing

Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can purchase a SOCTF o/s/r wing. I bought a wing recently that was... excuse my French... Bloody awful. The N/s one I bought a few months ago was very good, that one had the SOCTF sticker on it.

I thought there was only repair panels available from soctfl for the rear quarters, could be wrong though

You maybe right, I bought a SOCTFL n/s from Wards about 6 months ago, I had the chance then to purchase the o/s, I so wish I had bought it.....
I had a remanufactured one from another supplier delivered on Tuesday just gone, it was awful so sent it back.
My only hope is that maybe someone has one that they no longer want.

SOCTFL arranged the manufacture of rear wings several years ago. Due to the panel size and cost I think take up was low, so suppliers didn't get many in for stock. Hopefully they can get more made now that SOCTFL panels are back in production - according to the advert on P4 of the current magazine.

I hope so Dave, the wing on there now is original and not to bad other than it has been hit down that side. Before i bought it The front wing was renewed, a 2nd hand door fitted and the rear wing must of had a fair bit of filler in it above the sill.
I would rather replace it now as I have gone this far but could get away with the 3/4 panel.one may turn up.
Intrigued by what you said re the remaking of the wings. I hope they do.

This months mag advert for soctfl panels has a red "x" by the rear wings and a note saying repair panels available.

I got an osrw repair panel from robsport a couple of months ago

The fit of the Robsport rear 3/4 panels is pretty good but as I understand it they have (or at least had) ones from a much earlier SOCTFL funded project and are the ones I used. The ones they are advertsing look like the ones I bought and may well be the best available choice if you can't locate an SOCTFL complete rear wing.

Apologies for the delay in replying, but I wanted to ckeck the latest position. The complete rear wings funded by SOCTFL rely on a pressing that cannot, at least for the time being, be manufactured at economical cost because the remaining rubber-press capacity in the UK is now very expensive. Overseas production isn't viable because of low quantity.

However, as others have mentioned repair sections can be produced (lower half) and should be available from the usual sources (or at least can be ordered with reasonable lead time). Owing to the cost of the complete wings they were usually made to order, and so there has been little stock. What there was is now exhausted.

We haven't given up but there's no immediate solution.
