While SHMBO is Away.....

My wife is popping back to the U.K. for 10 days on Friday to attend to some Family matters and I am left minding the shop. Apart from one changeover in our Rental Apartment while she is away the rest of the time is my own.

I plan to fix a few things on the Stag that I've been putting off (something's catching underneath - exhaust?, one of my door speakers isn't working, and I might move a stud or two to make the tonneau cover a better fit, etc etc.)

It's still very warm so I'll be going for my daily swim in the pool, and in the evenings enjoying a pint or two of cool local lager at an outside bar watching the world go by. I might also take the Stag out exploring some new places that I can show the wife when she gets back.

Apart from that I have no real plans - any suggestions (that are printable & won't be vetoed by the Super Moderator).
In other words - what might you do if you were here in my place? PS. Just got my Sept. issue of the Club mag - I could read that cover to cover!

I've said it before but - take the Stag up Teide! Screech the tyres on a few hairpins and enjoy yourself!

Might screech the tyres around a few hairpins, but don't think I'll get all the way up Teide - still too hot up there at the moment and am saving the journey for a cooler day later in the year.

Go diving, every day probably twice a day. Fix the Stag later.

I would love to go diving, unfortunately my eyes are pretty bad and when I remove my glasses (eg. swimming under water which I like doing) everything is pretty much just a blur. I know you can get special diving goggles for people with poor eyesight but most of the dive companies around here don't have them.

What I have done in the Red Sea (an area renowned for good for diving) - is gone down in a submarine fitted with large viewing portholes. There is such a submarine plus an underwater obsevatory at Eilat in Israel which I made use of a few years ago when on Holiday at Taba in Northern Egypt which is right on the border with Israel & Jordan at the top tip of the Red Sea.

You are such a boyJust how I lived when I was single..... just did the hoovering when a new girlfriend hove into view, to create an initial good impression....

When my wife first came on the scene, she did question why I had a MIG welder and bottle in the living room...... I just pretended it had got damp and needed to dry out slowly....

She wasn't convinced, and has been ordering me about ever since.....

Change the missus for a low maintenance one; best thing I ever did!I do all these things already (except the last one) and whenever she goes away I have to cook and brew teafor myself (it's horrendous!). My only complaint is that she doesn't do car maintenance. Do you think I should seek a further improvement?

i would stick with what you have, a further upgrade can be very expensive. i for one am staying put unless Kylie comes my way, whichis as likely aswanting tospray my car Java and fitting a buick engine.

four stags went to Cornwall one year I seem to remember, three with Triumph engines and one with a Buick. just remind me which one over heated and came back on a low loader
