New parts being fitted

Hi everyone,

As i am replacing a split steering rack gaitor , i am going to replace both and new ball joints . Is it worth replacing the track rod ends as well .

Ive just done mine, you'll need a pair of stilsons to grasp the track rod arms. Also don't forget you'll need to get the alignment adjusted afterwards.

Maybe teaching you to suck eggs Paul but if you count the turns as you take them off you put the new ones on the same number of turns (assuming the track rod is the same length) to get them roughly aligned.

Paul, if they are worn then change them, if not then save you money.

Yeah , i was going to put a mark on where the end is and fingers crossed it will be ok

they are pretty old terry

I counted the turns, but I'm not 100% sure of the dimensions of the new parts, so I'll get the alignment adjusted

I will do that also , Getting the mk2 alloys fitted as well

I will do that paul ..... unless my little boy comes out and starts picking all the tools up lol , then i am buggered.

Paul we are all pretty old but that doesn't mean we need changing. I'm not sure on the quality of the new ones? They may not last that long?

Indeed we are , The rubber looks pretty worn... on them
