Front Caliper refitting tips?

Hi,
I am trying to refit my front calipers and I am finding it very difficult with the top mounting bolt. The brake shield tab moves when i push the top caliper tab in because it is such a tight fit. Has anyone got any tips on refitting the calipers?

You probably don't have many options apart from slackening the rest of the strut mounting bolts, sometimes the caliper slips in and out easily, sometimes it doesn't.

I relieved the mounting surfaces on the new calipers on mine with a flap disc making sure the surfaces retained their flat surfaces and inclinations, not a lot needed just a skim. Took it to the vice and kept refitting it until it only just went in. Shouldn't need much off if an existing caliper.

All you need to do is loosen off rest of strut mounting bolts to hub and caliper should slide in easily job done.

I had a similar issue with mine. Got some recon callipers from LD Parts and they were very (too) tight to fit - all sorted with a flat file and some elbow grease, as I thought that a grinder would be a bit over the top and I'd probably end up removing too much metal.
