Holley 390 Hose breather set up

    Good evening Gents

I have finally got around to fitting my Holley to the Stag this weekend and she runs well and I'm very pleased with the result.
However, I'm a little stuck on what to do with the cam cover oil breather and Holley vacuum. She runs fine at present but the cam breather is just venting to air and the vacuum pipe on the Holley is doing the same. Do I need to just put a breather filter on the cam breather and plug the Holley vacuum or make sure I connect them?
Any one got any photos showing their set up or just some sound advice on getting the best set up.
    Cheers Guys

I run a 390 and tapped into the manifold vac take off for the breather ,by this I mean the cam cover hose runs to a catch tank which then runs to vac take off for servo with a T but in this line I have a "pcv" valve this prohibits me getting full vac take off at partial throttle and stops all your oil getting vacuumed out lol. it works superbly and all I need to do is empty the catch tank at intervals probably 3 times a year to remove any deposits . the pcv is required as well to allow you to get a lower reasonable tick over down to 650/750 rpm . you may get oil seals showing incontinence if crank case pressure builds up as a result of not venting properly which is why you need to fit this up and to avoid oily smells in cabin .its quite simple and very efficient .
Beautiful early mk1 white tv8 mod? MGB GT and now looking for another V8

Do you mean the large brass 9/10mm pipe on the Holley? Leaving that open will suck a lot of air and weaken the mixture. Blank it off or, better use it in a closed system pref with a PCV valve.
