Soft Top Release

Hi - I wonder if anyone can help me with an issue with my soft top release. I attempted to lower the soft top at the weekend - however when I pulled the release lever it felt like the cable snapped. The soft top is therefore still in place and thereis now very little resistance on the release lever. As I cannot open the tonneau cover due the the soft top - how do I release the top or access the cable?

Any help or advice would be very welcome!

Lift out the rear seat base, then wrench the seat back forward at the bottom.
The top is bolted but the bottom is held by tabs that will bend.
This should just give enough access to reach the catch from below, not easy but it can be done.

Andy, Kevin's advice is spot on. Pull the base of the squab upwards, and you will get enough flexing in the seat back to get it well up the tabs. I'm afraid it is one of those brute force jobs but it works.

First try hitting hard with your hand on each side of the hood base at the back.

Jamming is usually caused by a misaligned catch striker.

I keep my back seats loose (until I trust the new (used) latch ) Thereafter I'm going to use velcro .Once bitten twice shy ,good luck

Guys - many thanks for the advice! I tried Chris's suggestion first and thankfully the catch released itself after some gentle persuassion!!!! Thanks again! Andy!
