Though thinking about it - it's the old joke "hands up those who aren't here?"

What I would like to know is how many members know how to use an internet connection of any standard.

I am a so called "Silver Surfer" and no expert but benefit from the best domestic connection speeds available. But apart from this forum which appears to be largely supported by at most a dozen "stalwarts" * ( I see no info being posted by the SOC governance as to upcoming events, or any real activity on facebook etc.)

Apart from 1 e-mail in the last 6 months I get no regional info other than what is in the monthly mag.

This in the context of what I was led to believe was the largest single model car owners club in the UK.

There should be well maintained regional web pages (yes there are there but they are way out of date)

This is 2015! I would have expected professional website/social media management from the SOC given their volume of members and in my experience higher end membership fee.

 BTW...

 * Thinking on you forum guys as Stag Stalwarts .......perhaps we could commission J K Rowling to write the ultimate Harry Potter ...Stagwarts. ... where he uses his magic powers to rid himself of Ginny Greasley and overcome the warts of an off the line Stag and then having married Hermione as he should have done initially wafts her off on Honeymoon in the perfect Stag. In 3D I would go at least 3 times!! Last edited by HersnotHis; 22 March 2015, 22:18. Last edited by HersnotHis; 22 March 2015, 22:18.

Sounds like you are the perfect candidate to help the club. Why not contact Carl Fuss at stag forum admin?Originally posted by HersnotHis View PostWhat I would like to know is how many members know how to use an internet connection of any standard.

Can't believe I bare shelled my Stag, and totally rebuilt it, without the internet and without a digital camera, back in the early 90's.Originally posted by Stagdad View PostCan't imagine keeping the stag up together without the internet!!! In fact can't imagine doing much at all without it, Sad as it may seem.
 But I did!
At times I felt very alone, and I guess I was.
When you came up against a problem, no googling, no forum, how did we survive!Mike.

Couldn't live without it - I'd find it far easier to give up my TV.

And yes, how the hell did we manage without it? I was a member of SOC in the late 1980s and the only means of communication back then was by letter - the arrival of the monthly magazine was eagerly anticipated because in the interim time, you simply couldn't communicate unless you knew people personally and had their address/phone number.

Happy days in spite of all that!
