    Stag Floor Pan

I'm looking for someone who has practical experience repairing Stag floor/cills. I have found rust where the floor pan meets the inner cill. Problem is that I can't work out how these were originally joined. Does anyone know if the factory spot-welded the edge of the floor to the lower flat side of the inner cill, and then spotted on the outercill? This seems likely as I can't see any remains of a lip on the floor (as would be needed if it was spotted to the doubled flange of the inner & outer cills - so making this flange three layers thick). How are "new" floors supplied, with a flange, or just a plain flat edge? What is the usual method of repair if most of the cill is sound, so not needing to split inner from outer?

Hi, floor panels come with a flange, just had mine replaced along with outer sills, weld the floor to the inner sill.

The front floor pan welds to the under side of inner sill, rear floor pan has a right angle,so is welded to bottom lip of inner sill and under side of sill

I'm still struggling to get my head round how the floor pan, inner and outer sill all come together.

Does anyone have good pictures or diagrams of this area ?

Dave - as you say weld the front floor pan to the under side of the sill, does that mean you had flor pan sections without a lip

        All advice greatfully received

        Cheers

            Thanks Dave,

So, am I right in thinking that a new floor pan section sits underneath the inner sill (and is welded to it) but the right angle on the outside edge of the floor pan points downwards and is welded to the lip of the outer sill ?

            Cheers

That's how the front one I fitted recently went on Julian

Were you looking at it upside down Dave?

I also virtually seam welded my whole floor on the inside ie floor to sill.

Thanks Edd - I could do with you here right now Only kidding

When he's not setting fire to my car, my neighbour does me proud on the welding front.

                        Cheers
