Two more pictures taken at the ESM 2013 at Gaydon. I think the second pic shows Alan Hart behind his beautiful Stag.

Some years ago after the ESM in Ashford I was invited by Alan to take the co pilot's seat for the Preston Hill climb with a very skilled driver. A very, very fast round in a phantastic car. Once I heard that Alan intended to give his treasure away in good hands -- did he or is she still in his ownwership?

Afaiaa, the 4x4 stags were not triumph led, financed or approved, but part of an gkn / ffd project.
The 4x4 3.0 estate (5dr) was used by a triumph director in Guernsey or Jersey for some time though, still never a production programme though.
The mind boggles when we see so many so called sucessful 4x4 estates and sports cars today & look back to the final painful days of Canley, then see how close jaguar & lr came to the same fate, saved by ford & tata & turned into a relatively respected producer again.
