New Member needs HELP!!!!!

I have had my Stag TNR 194R for about 4 years. Its an ongoing project, I have just fitted a new heater valve and O ring, but the return spring??? or whatever mechanism holds it in place is missing, so is still dripping water.
Can anyone give me any advise or information on how to cure this problem ie. what size spring and where does it fasten to,

Moved from technical section,
There isn't a return spring, but the actuating arm also acts as a retainer for the valve. Even if the valve is pushed in place with out the retainer it should still seal if the o ring is correct but would blow out when pressure builds up. Try a search on here there are lots of threads on it.
