door frame gaps

The hinges give a small amount of adjustment-you need to take the door card off to get to them - loosen and see what you can achieve. You'll probably need another pair of hands to help. Failing that the chromed frames can also be moved but that's a bit more involved.Paul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't

if your actual door gaps are fine/satisfactory then just play around with adjusting the frames, this is pretty easy once the door card is off, when I did mine I still wasn't happy with the frame bolts fully adjusted to push the top in so I put a spacer on the lower mount, this had an effect of pulling the top in nice and snug. yours are pretty bad so should have some adjustment to play with straight away!

Ahhhh door gaps and frames where do I start. I have spent ages doing mine. Seeing as I increased my door aperture by adding material to the leading edge it would mean a better fit against the a pillar but hence the door frame won't follow. The frame has limited movement. To get it spot on you need to think outside the box by elongating holes adding a few washers to help bring the frame into the right angle. Leaving the window glass off the motor to ensure free running. I also moved the braket on the end of the frame near the lock to enable the frame to move back towards the rear. My frame now sits at the furthest point back in door. Don't use any form of rubber mallet anything that isn't working with a shove with the palm of your hand ain't going to shift. ( would rather forget my experience so please no more jokes there are still more body shop works needing to be carried out due to my damage inflicted which I'm getting done end of season)

Put both my doors back on Sunday.
Used a trolley jack to both take the weight the doors and to raise them, took a while to adjust knowing drivers side was worse, passenger door fitted very well before taking them off.
Gap between window frame and B post capping worse on one side than the other but both closed good.
Drivers door always rubbed on the sill where I guess a new sill had been fitted by PO but managed to raise the hinge on the A post so now much better.
Took two of us do do it properly, as Edd has said, saves keep getting in and out when tightening bolts.
