water patch from under the stag

Bit of a head scratcher , stag has been parked up for a few weeks and there seems to be a wet patch underneath it just under the gearbox . And its coolant .

No idea where its coming from. On further investigation there seems to be a small pool of coolant on the V .

    regards paul

        Hi Paul
Mine has been like this for the last couple of years but not so it leaves any on the floor. The more I use the car the better it gets. I probably have to top up the coolant with about 1-2 mug fulls a year so at the moment I put up with it. If it gets worse then I would sort it out.
        Cheers Rob.

I had something similar 4 years ago and an advice from on here I put some Kseal in. No problem since then.

Same problem a few years ago, the coolant was running along and down the gearbox, tightened up hose clips and sorted.

Don't worry too much Paul, just keep a careful eye on coolant level.

I've had it ever since I fitted a (Sshhh !) header tank but, bizarrely, although it can leave a small puddle on the floor, I hardly ever have to top up !

              Cheers

My water pump does exactly the same, although just a trickle over time.

Coolant in the vee is a good clue . As others said it trails off the back of the block and may appear surprisingly far back on the garage floor. Check the thermostat housing and hoses etc but if is just a smidge from the pump I would not worry. Might fit a new gasket next time I do a full coolant and hose change.
