soft top roof frame dilema update

an update on my roof dilemma

i undone the swiveling bars at the front each side and managed to close the roof, then offering back up the bars it was clear the hole was an inch away! then dawned on me that what if the big bar is bolted on the wrong way round, sure enough i swapped it around noticing it even has a little stay to i presume stop the folding bit going the wrong way, roof now closes!!!

    BUT:

always a but lol, i still have issues at the rear mech etc, on the drivers side up begainst the b pillar the roof is tight at the top and at the bottom i can fit the whole of my fat finger in loosened hinges cant sem to resolve that atal?

when i lift the roof drop the storage hood and lower the roof the frame catches the lid and rubs a hell of a lot, i did once grit my teeth and force it past, ive noticed i can not get the rear of the roof far enough down prob an inch out? maybe they force slam shut once the catch is bolted on i dont know? but shes not right.

im happy ive sorted one issue hoping to sort the rest now

there is some adjustment on those, loosen the two nuts/screws and you can slide them up and down

does the rear loop sit flat when down, or is one side higher than other, because there is adjustment on that as well

The rear loop I think needs more it looks like wont latch down seems to stop a bit high, although I imagine there is supposed to be done tension and slamming action, hoop metal bars also rub on horse shoe I think more so on drivers side, same side with other issues

At the moment, I have one of those catches on my work top and missing from one side but the hood still opens and closes fine.

Missing yes but mines not aligning, which I presume is indicating something's out of place and prob causing all my issues

You could be right. Think you need someone to look at it rather than guess on here.

Have you looked in depth at the exploded view on ROM or Rimmers?

if the rear hoop is rubbing on the horse shoe, sounds like the frame is not up against the B-post,whats the front end like, does that fit ok,post a couple of pictures may be easier to see whats wrong

                              shes on!!!!!!!

bit of comparison side to side made me realise part of the hinge looks lower a bottle jack and straight away the b pillar gap closed up and its all good now

just got one issue the catch has some tension and i think the cable too much slack so lever doesent release the top, but cant be no real dilemma
