    Lock Plate Plugs

At the New Forest Run today I saw a Stag with metal plugs anyone know where to get them from, I know Bosscreen sell the vinyl covered ones.

On another note the Run today was great weather fabulous well done to the organisers for a good day.

Someone was selling them on ebay a few weeks ago but I've looked and they aren't listed now. It might be worth you keeping an eye on newly listed Stag items there.

This is not just a Stag, this is a Mimosa Stag - well it will be soon.

I have a pair of these I bought from this seller on ebay a few momths ago. They are made of very thin SS and have very sharp edges, the fit to the curve round the Htop location is poor and should actually be flared. They are retained by a couple of spring leaves that are riveted to the plates.

Whatever they do improve the look. However I am sure that many of the members on here would have the skills and tools to make these themselves and make a better job of it . I will send detailed photos and and scanned jpegs of draw rounds on mm graph paper to anyone who is interested.

Main reason why I didn't buy them.

Fine but yours (OK look nice - far better than hole) are in vinyl as per the Bosscreen commercial item, the OP was interested in the "shiny" alternative.

Since as I see it yours are a pushed up solution rather than a clamped down execution I cannot see how your design could be modified to accomodate a metallic "shiny" finish? Please advise if I have missed something.

                      Dear Him and Her,

I really do believe your main purpose in life at the moment is to wind as many people up as possible on this forum and I'll tell you for nothing, you are doing a good job!

I regret my opinion is the converse. WTF is wrong with my post No10 ???

                        Firstly its HersnotHis

Its an opinion - the OP asked for a METAL solution??

I have been as helpful as I can having bought the SS version of this plate

I am regretably coming to the conclusion that you and at least one others main purpose in life is to to deny me the benefit of this forum and to wind me up as much as possible

FFS I own a very nice Stag it has some defects and cosmetic deficiencies and a few mysteries a large number of which I have attended to over the last few months, many with the help of this forum. Its actually my wifes car! (I have my own classic) but of course I have to ensure its streetworthy at a moments notice!

OK yes I am a straight answers for straight questions man but have no problem with posts that suggest alternative solutions.

Howewver I cannot accept posts that question ones ability particularly in a novice situaton.

Any more of this sort of rubbish then I am out of here - but perhaps thats what you want??

                        Goodnight sleepwell

I really like my Bosscreen plates and after 10 years they're only just starting to show their age - nicks in the vinyl where I forget and try to raise the hood with them still in place ! (recovering them will be straightforward and is on 'the list')
