    Engine Colour

    May seem like a simple question for some.But what was the original colour of a Mk1 engine.

    The original triumph Stag restorers guide says that the cylinder block is finished in black and the aluminium cylinder heads were left unpainted says James Taylor.

      Thanks Peter, we wanted to make sure we painted it correctly.

        Related issue, I am tidying up my engine bay and about to paint my oil filter bowl, it looks like original is blue, is this correct?
        Or should it the the regular Stanpart Black?

              Thanks for the replies, I went with a light blue that seemed to match the original,
              Interesting that two types were fitted per Triumph Stag parts manual;
              AC Delco which is mine, and another made by Tecalemit ? Both using same filter. Be interesting to see which is prevalent?
              I have another TV8 and this was painted Hamerite silver by a previous owner.
