    Choke cable routing

    Hi guys and gals,

Can one of you kind people post a photo showing which hole(s) the choke cables come through the bulkhead into the engine bay please? I've trawled through umpteen engine bay photos on here, but none of them show this very clearly. As always, thanks in advance.

Here you go Thom. Both cables use the same hole/grommet. On mine this is shared with the oil pressure gauge tube.

Dave is your choke cable knob fitted to the righthand side of the dash? Mine is on the left side and comes out on the n/s of the bulkhead, is this wrong?
your cables must be shorter. Ive just done this and its a poor design as the choke fitment inside the dash faces the fresh air pipe and has to be routed around it.

No, mine is in the original position on the LH side of the dash. It routes across behind the radio and into the engine bay. This is the correct original route, albeit a pain to get right and achieve an easy to pull operation. I can't see how the choke cable can connect to the carbs when entering the engine bay on the near side.

Interesting. I've never seem them fitted like that before. This is what they usually look like:
