    Mixture look OK to you?

Have been using the Stag for commuting and over a period of time it has started to jerk slightly at 1500 revs but not a misfire. My mixture is or was set at 3% post MOT and I thought maybe it could do with a little and would resolve the issue so I gave each carb another mixture turn of 30minutes clockwise to enrichen. Not sure what the reading is but

Then of course with short runs etc I looked at the plugs this morning and can see a couple needed a clean. Being that I have electronic ignition I set them all to 30thou as always.

Looking at the plug does it look Ok for mixture? Or, are they on they on the weak side?

didn't know they had to be set differently when using electronic ignition?

Hi Mark, they don't really but it can make a difference with a longer spark. It all helps

              Hi andrew,
have done this today on mine, but went down the taking the air box off route and adjusting the carbs by lifting the pistons and seeing how it reacted also had them balanced at the same time.
p.s are the essex area out and about anywhere tomorrow?
              steve.

Just my opinion Andrew, but increasing the gap may not improve the ignition, and it may worsen it. The distributor cap, rotor arm and leads are all under stress due to high tension electric fields, and spark energy can leak away if gap is increased. I would try going back to 25 to see if it helps.

I worked on high voltage research projects for a few years and you do get a feel for how high voltage electricity can arc and track just when you dont want it to.

I have just changed my plugs and based upon the colours of the old ones have increased the mixture by clockwise turn of 360 degrees.
Your adjustment of 30 minutes must have been difficult to measure and will make negligible difference to mixture.
I base my comments upon an assumption that there are 60 minutes in 1 degree. Or has Europe changed this?
