    MKII Stag Radiator

    Hi

Can someone please measure the width of a standard MKII Stag Radiator and let me know what it is. I have been supplied one that is 570 mm wide and my existing one is 550mm. The new one doesn't fit!P1000755 (640x480).jpgP1000752 (640x480).jpg

    Thanks

I’m not sure what would constitute a standard radiator, but mine is brand new this year and is fitted in a late Mk1, but its 600mm! Hope this is helpful.

        Thanks Tony

There is no way I could fit a 600mm wide rad into my MKII. Any sign of your bodywork been modified at any time to make this rad fit?

          Hi

If anyone else can check their MKII Stag for radiator width tomorrow (Sunday 26 Apr 2015) then I would appreciate it. Before I 'negotiated' with the supplier of my replacement that did not fit my engine bay.

          Thanks

540 mm is the old Mk 2 rad width.
The mark up drawings for the new Mk2 ally rad I just installed has the new rad width at 21.5 inches (546.1 mm) and it only just fit into the space and clear of the fan.

My car has had front end damage, but appears to be very well repaired (MK 1 car with Mk 2 spares car)

Chas my apologies to you and everyone on this post, you did say width, and I thought you meant the thickness! So, anyway the thickness is 60mm(not 600 as I said) and the width is 540mm.
Putting my Anorak on, I have an interest in radiators for Stags and thought I would relay the comment made to me by my specialist radiator supplier when I showed my disappointment at my new rad spec being shown on my receipt as '3 Row S type, 8.7m between tubes and Fin pitch max 14FPI' " But I wanted one like you supplied to me before - a 4 Row D type" I cried(nothing to do with Jaguars!). Their reply to me was that radiator technology has moved on since then and this was today's best spec. I'm always ready to bow to greater knowledge! However, any spec changes shouldn't change overall rad sizes I wouldn't of thought.

                      Chas,
My supplier was Feltham Radiators, who I have had excellent dealings with over the years for all my Triumph radiator needs since the early 70’s, but in March this very year, sadly they finally closed down, as Colin(the proprietor?) retired.
However, his staff have joined up with GT Radiators of Shepperton and I hope the supply of good quality radiators and technical related information will continue through them. I understand from them that they also do fuel tanks as well, although I have not experienced any dealings with this new company as yet.
                      Tony.
