problems on stag

I changed the igntion coil yesterday and i am know suffering a slight miss fire, which seems to go when you pull the choke out ????


any ideas its running electronic ignition .... the yellow wire is to the plus side which is the igntion together with two black and white wires on the other plus side.

then on the negative side there is two wires crimped together which are yellow and white and a sort of pink and white ...

just wondering if they have been attached properly .

It is a 12v igntion coil i have put in .... not sure if i should have not connected the white and pink wire to the coil as it is a ballast wire for 6v coils ...

That would mean that you are only getting a 6volt ( more or less ) feed to a 12volt coil. The problem you are not getting 2 feeds to the coil at the same time. when you are cranking the feed comes from the starter is 12 volt when you realise the key the feed then comes from the ign switch via the pink and white wire which is approx. 6 volt. So you need to fit a 6volt coil. Graham

Give the new Coil a temporary 12v feed and see if the problem is still there

I checked the new coil and the top where the lead fits over is cracked...... now i am going to put the old pne back on as it was working fine.

Am i correct in thinking , Yellow wire from the electronic ignition goes to minus accompanied on the other minus terminal the grey and white wires, then on the plus terminals the yellow and white and pink an white get crimped together and attach to one of the plus terminals or separate on each of the terminals
