Soft top..

Well l just found out something new....YEAH BABY..
Seems that our original soft tops had a metal strip sown in that bit goes against the b post.....
Guess whats not in the new softtops, Yes correct. This metal bit, seems that's why they don't go up against the b post like they should.....
Now you can all tell me you knew that....

Another not so well known ( believed to be a fact . The stitching on the original hoods matched the body colour mine is original and has French blue David's over the road has Magenta stitching.

It depends whose new hoods you buy, I know one supplier that still fits the spring steel strip. My hood definitely never had white stitching- so that is false.

I'm also thinking of putting the Mk1 hood with the side windows. I had read years ago that someone had put a zip on them to help with closing.

I'm sure my new hood from South East trimmings has the metal strip, I'll check later to confirm.
