    Boss screen vs side screen

Boss screen vs side screen what's the best.
I'm at a stage where after driving the stag I have noticed the buffeting my wife gets. At present she loves it but rather than wait for the time when the thought of driving the stag vs " I've just had my hair done moment " I thought to purchase a screen. I like the idea of side screens as I intend to take passengers too. But does the side screens work as well as the main rear screen for racing turbulence or are they a waste of time.

I personally don't like the look of the side screens Edd...
Buy that lovely wife of yours a baseball cap to keep her hair in check..choose the right one though as you know how fussy they can be..
In fact let her choose it and you pay....

        Hi Edd

The side screens help reduce the wind for rear passengers but have little effect on the front. We use them when our son is travelling in the back. The rest of the time we use a mesh screen. That helps a lot with draught reduction in the front seats. It takes less than a minute to remove and refit when putting the hood up and down thereby still permitting access to the rear seats to zip and un zip the rear window when folding the hood. Bosscreens always strike me as being more of a permanent installation.

        Regards

Great info guys including the hat. I thought the side screens look ok but suspicion confirmed as to effectiveness regards the front. I will start looking into the mesh but I do like the bling of the clear screen.

Here you go Edd, 2 days left. The tonneau doesn't look like a Bosscreen one to me.

              Cheers

                Hi

I have a Bosscreen it too can be removed in less than a minute. It can remain in place when you put the hood up - just turn the locking levers in . Also remember to zip the window before engaging the plunger at the rear of the hood. In order to make this easier I lubricated the zip with ptfe spray.

That's a Rimmer Bros draught preventer, you can just make it out on the screen, Lincoln phone number.

I went for the Boss screen and found it excellent. Seconds to put up or take down. Also I believe Rimmer used to buy them from the guy at Boss Screen who is a Stag Club member trying to make a living. Rimmer, I believe, dumped him after a year and made their own very similar version. Problem with that one is you have to drill and fix pop studs for the tonneau where the Boss Screen just clips over the hood frame. I stuck tape on the clips to prevent any possible damage to the rubbers but he may have modified that by now. John

I've heard it said that you can sometimes get a drumming sound from the wind on the perspex, is that so?

I have a Breeze Breaker, brilliant bit of kit IMHO.
