Notifications of new posts in subscribed threads

Since returning to the Forum and using it in it's new format, I have noticed I am only occasionally getting an email notification to say there has been a new post in a thread I am following or have started.

In my profile I have said "yes" to receiving all notifications, but within the last few days I have had to look in the "whats new" section to see replies and new posts.

Is it just me, and/or is there something I need to do that wasn't required under the old version of the Forum?

for me it's working. I think you should check your "Default Thread Subscirption Mode" in the "General Settings".

It's set correctly to "Instantly via email" - just double checked.

As it appears I am not the only one with the problem, I have reported it to "Admin" to see what they say.

Never used that facility. I get enough 'stuff' in my email as it is. Whenever I visit this site I just click 'New Posts' and everything I haven't read before is listed. Easy enough to read or ignore and mark as read.

Sorry you left the gate open for that one, for a long time now notifications have been very random, coming through days late? they seem to have stopped altogether now so your not the only one.

How did you know I had a gate protecting my front door!?

Rather than check each Forum I use each day, I prefer to wait till I get a notification email and then use that to access the relevant Forum, then check also the new posts to see if there is something else I am interested in.

And before you ask, the reason for the gate is so we can leave the front door open to let in some air, but stop the opportunist thief from gaining access at the same time. Opening just the windows doesn't let in enough fresh air on hot days, but opening the front door also helps the air flow and keeps our apartment cooler.

I am hoping I may now have solved the problem - but will have to wait and see what happens when there is another post in one of the threads I am subscribed to.

Under the "Quick Links" heading I clicked on "subscribed threads" and when it listed all the threads I am subscribed to I noticed there are 2 columns at the end - one for "Last post by" and the other a "tick" column that says "Notifications". but this was not ticked which meant all the subscribed threads listed also had "blank" notification boxes.

So I have just ticked the top box which has resulted in a tick being put in all the boxes, and just waiting to see if I now start getting emails again.

Perhaps someone could make a another post in this thread and I can then see if it's working again.
Looks like it is not sufficient just to specify notifications in your profile under general settings, you have to do it in the notifications menu under "quick links" as well.

I am hoping that is the answer.

Thanks for responding but it didn't work - the notification boxes have all got blanked out again,
even when I re-tick them all it doesn't keep the setting - it blanks them out again.

Mine still not receiving but as Dave said, may be a good thing.
