Is anybody else keeping an eye on this ? The Stag is leading the field in every stage so far !!!!!!!!
Its running in front of some very fast cars.

I notice they have not achieved the best time on every stage, but they are still, overall in the lead. I am so willing them to win, it feels like Wimbledon when you want the Brit to win, but suspect they may not. Still hoping anyway!

Chris. I have just looked at how their lead has changed from day to day. From day one, in seconds, it has been;
6, 12, 16, 13, 23, 24, 37, and 20. I had an email from them today expressing some concern about one of the engine mountings. It was hard to believe from the pictures that it was new, but then I remembered the seas of mud they have recently been driving through. I think by now they will have fitted the spare they were carrying (!) and have located some more from a supplier over there. They are surprised how little time-if any- some competitors spend checking their cars at the end of each stage. No bed for them until they are sure they are ready for the following day!
Other than that, they are amazed at how well the car has performed. Long may it continue to do so. They have some very stiff opposition.

This rally is fantastic and its great to see a Triumph Stag out in front, however going onto the Rally website shows no pictures of the lead car whatsoever!
I've emailed them asked this to be put right, so lets see what happens!

Rob. There are some there. Go to the website, then Rally Reports, then Trans America Gallery. I agree that considering their position, there should be more. Day 10 has a good one of them heading nose first into a lake of mud. If they were the first through, it was a brave move! I wonder if the photographer has a problem with Stags?
