    rear hubs

    Hi

Replaced a rear hub with a re con one today. I decided to see how hard it would be to strip down old hub, as on reading about this job on the forum it would seem to take a big effort to separate the hub.

I put the hub in a vise and put the nut back on and then placed an old socket on the hub nut. I than gave the socket a wack with a big hammer and on the fifth wack it came apart with no damage and is ready to replace with new bearings . Lucky me I think.

Yep...lucky you, given any thought as to how tight that was attached as against how tight it should have been ? and what had prevented it "mating" correctly and above all the fact I seem to remember you have another on the other side and that may be attached to the same degree...or not ?
Me I wouldn't be driving it again until I've checked it.
