The clips are for the rear wheel cylinders, the nuts and washers look like they are for the brake hoses.

If you dont fit the c clips properly the slave will wobble about when you are not braking and in my case cause odd noises as the shoes kissed the drum.

To fix I ended up removing the backplate and installing the cylinders and c clips on the bench. Gave me a chance to paint, inspect outer driveshaft UJ/hub, lube up splines, check threads that secure the hub to the trailing arm etc etc etc

Agreed with Russ, the special tool makes it easy. I think Moss sell them (same as on MGB?). It says "17h7949t" so could be the part number....

The rear hoses are different left/right. The right one inner end goes onto a pipe so has a flare type union. The left inner end goes into a 'T' piece so needs the copper washer. That end of the hose doesn't have the cone shape and the thread is shorter with a flat for the copper washer to seal on.

                    Cheers,
                    Mike.

Be careful when fitting the brake hoses. Someone, in the previous ownership of my Stag, had wrongly fitted one of the rear flexi hoses and done the union up first and twisted the hose to tighten the other end. This twist resulted in it rubbing against the suspension and causing this to happen.Brake Hose.jpg
It now has stainless braided hoses fitted (properly)!

or whack them on with a flat blade screwdriver like I did! easier said then done with the backing plate off the car and on the bench!
