have you checked the UJs on the drive shafts and propshaft
dave
Had the drive shafts off a couple of weeks ago to re grease the splines. Ujs are all ok. I greased the prop shaft ujs as well all seem fine but I haven't removed the prop.

Well done Ian. I think I have found the cause of the noise yep it's the shocks. The damping is fine but when they change direction there is a knock from inside. Bouncing the car with no shocks is silent no noise at all just a very bouncy car. I am a bit disappointed as they have only been on the car for around 6000 miles but there again they are just the standard cheap ones. Right which to buy now KYB, Spax or Koni. Advise as always is much appreciated.
Rob.
Fitted a new set of KYB shocks to the rear end this evening. Been out for a test drive and to settle the suspension. The rear of the car seems so such tighter in fact a real noticeable difference. They do make the car sit a bit higher though. Doing this however has made the front feel a bit crappy as they are the original shocks. Guess what my next job is. Not sure if the Klonk is gone as I need to drive over a an uneven piece of ground. I got the shocks from http://www.camskill.co.uk/ best price I found at £86.00 a pair delivered. Brilliant service and a lot cheaper than the normal stag part suppliers.
Cheers rob.
I fitted a standard pair to the rear from RB and although the ride is ok the quality of the units weren't so good IMO and should have gone for a better make. Need to do the front at some time but not a problem at the moment.
I also still feel the back should be slightly higher than the front for looks, again just my opinion.
But hopefully Rob your problem is sorted. Let us know.
Jeff.
I only do what the voices in my wife’s head tell me to do!
Cheers Jeff. Another thing I liked about the KYB shocks is they don't use a nyloc nut they use a normal nut then a half size jamming nut which is I think the same as the original shocks. I might wait until the winter to do the front shocks as I have quite a few shows and days out booked. Thanks for all the help and advise guys much appreciated. Bl**dy good forum this.
