I didn't think you could fit remote door locking to a Mk1 as there was only one actuating rod which lock but opens the door as well. I thought people who tried to do this found it opened the door when triggerd. Well done for overcoming that problem,if indeed there was one. I have central locking and window closing wired in with the alarm but mine is a Mk2 with two operating rods. Graham Slow typing again
Got it. Took all apart and greased the ef out of it..
Graham, l bought the system from Ian at Monarch. Works well on Mk1 and 2. How does yours do the windows, how does it know to stop ?

Hi Malc
I've got this kit sitting in a box to be fitted one day. Did you take any photos of the installation?

Sends a -ive timed pulse from the alarm mainframe. Does the monarch one lock and unlock on a single rod lock?? Cheers Graham
Yes, it is a good system. Motor rod attaches to door rod as per normal. comes with alarm, a couple of relays, some wiring to be done. Mines in bits so made a custom loom under the dash for it. I did drill a 1" hole to access the rod screws more easily.

Hi Al.
I finally fitted mine over the winter, screwed motors to door just below rod and put a slight double bend in locking rod to meet existing rod. Join was below an existing cut out in the door, so no extra cutting. Used thin wall cable and ran the 2 wires through centre of existing moulded grommets. My alarm has necessary output to drive motors. Simple, wish I had done it years ago. Purposely have not included the boot.
had a photo of lock mount somewhere will try to find it.
I,m really interested in this post so any pictures would be great I think I might do it as a winter project , I was trying to pretend I would enjoying using the keys but in reality it would be useful .
