Why didn't you use the standard MOD gear stick John? It would be a straight swap wouldn't it.

Hi I, tried that but could not get on with it as i have nerve trouble with my fingers with the push pull switch if its down its out , I brought a lever on ebay when it arrived it was n o s in a B L blue box, Cheers John

My car had a non o/d manual box from new. I still have the box in my garage, but fitted a J o/d box in its place.
The non o/d box is definitely original, as the commission number does not end in 'O'

No, the button for that would be under a flip top of the gear-knob. Haven't you watched Goldfiinger???

That's why you can't fit them to Triumphs with over-drive switches like Stags

My project Stag came with a non OD gearbox, but I disembowelled it and fitted a J type mainshaft and overdrive unit
