    that sinking feeling

Found out tonight that the float on my fuel gauge sender was full of fuel.
sealed it with a bit of silicon , but now i believe its a bit heavy.
Anyone know of a supplier of new floats?

    Hi Jules,

I had this problem recently. I squeezed the float carefully with some molegrips to get the petrol out, then used a hot screw driver to smear the plastic to cover the pin hole.
Turned the float around so the other end was in the wire bracket, and figured it would be good for another 40 years!

    No problems yet!

    Cheers...Al

For all things carburettor you'll find the floats you need at this link .... http://zenithcarb.co.uk/floats.html
I love deadlines - I like the whooshing sound they make as they pass by!

He is talking about the fuel tank gauge float, not the carb floats.
