    Oil Pump leaking advice needed

Ever since getting the Stag back on the road earlier this year there has been a minor oil leak from somewhere in the vicinity of the oil pump. The oil runs down the low side of the pump mounting bolts before dripping onto the floor and upon investigation it seemed to be coming from the mating surface of the pump to the engine. Inspecting the ROM shows there to be an O ring sealing the pump to the block, so one was purchased from Paddocks and after a struggle was fitted. Job done I thought - wrong! The leak is worse than ever and I'm back to square one

My question is I notice on the Rimmers site that they sell an uprated seal (part number 145861HD) - does anyone know how its uprated (is it thicker for example?) and might it improve my chances of fixing my oil leak once and for all?
I love deadlines - I like the whooshing sound they make as they pass by!

It isn't the cam cover gasket leaking is it?

Hi if replacing seals on the oil pump, I would do them all, as any disturbance of the pump will make it leak from so where else. Most suppliers do a pump seal kit.

Thanks for your replies so far. No its not the cam cover gasket and thanks for the advice on replacing all the seals.

Not necessary saying this is your problem Robmsharp but I replaced all the O-rings in the oil pump but still had a oil leak problem, replaced the O-rings in the transfer housing but still had an oil leak problem, what it turned out be was by overtightening the oil pressure switch I had cracked the tapered part of the case in which the oil pressure switch fits.

Thanks Mark, while the pump was off I checked to see if the oil was dripping down from the pressure switch and it looked dry. How did you fix the crack?

I got a secondhand one off of Robsport, tenner for that and a oil pressure switch which I thought was good value.
