I have just come back in my Mk1 stag and had trouble reading the speedo and everything else due to poor illumination, I forgot how bad it was!! Is it likely to be the control know or just bulbs? If it is bulbs can anybody point me to the right ones on ebay as there are non specifically listed for a Stag or Triumph for that matter.

Thats funny, my friend Trevor has just reported the same problem to me, and asked me to look into it for him.
I reckon there are three possibilities: the bulbs could be old and blackened; the white insides of the instruments could be yellowed with age; or the adjuster (pot) is past its best.
I think its No 3 but I will have to see what is wrong when Iget the car into the garage.

Mk 1 instrument illumination is very poor..... painting the inside of the bulb-holders white helps.... i really need to do mine
. Not sure if anyone has sucessfully used LED's or not.... seem to remember an old thread about this .
